My thoughts on the Grammys dropping the Hawaiian music category

I’m not a Hawaiian musician, nor am i Hawaiian. I was born here and am proud to be from Hawaii. From the recent decision of the Grammys to drop Hawaiian music as a category, and being a little somewhat in the music industry, this is something I’d like to say.

Negative Hawaiian music artists…

instead of congratulating the winners, being positive, and perpetuating the Hawaiian music and culture…

you complained, cried about it, showed how much “aloha” you really have, and just how “pono” you really are.

Now you’ve help lose a category for the rest of the positive people in the Hawaiian music industry.

Granted you’re not the only reason… 31 other categories were dropped as well. But I’m sure your negativity didn’t help the cause to keep the category around.

Way to display the true essence of the Hawaiian spirit…
